TruckerPro ("we", "our", or "us") operates a transportation management platform accessible via our website at truckerpro.ca, the TruckerPro Fleet mobile application for iOS (for dispatchers and fleet managers), and the TruckerPro Driver mobile application for iOS and Android (for commercial drivers). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information across all of these services (collectively, the "Services").
By using any of our Services, you consent to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of our Services.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly, information collected automatically, and information from third parties. The categories depend on whether you use TruckerPro as a company (fleet operator), a dispatcher, or a driver.
Account & Profile Information
- Full name, email address, phone number, and mailing address
- Login credentials and two-factor authentication preferences
- Company name, role, and team membership
Business Information (Company Accounts)
- Company name, DOT number, MC number, and CVOR number
- Fleet details (trucks, trailers, equipment)
- Dispatch and load information
- Driver compliance records (license status, endorsements, medical certificates)
HR & Employment Information
If your company uses our HR tools, we may process on behalf of your employer:
- Employment details (position, start date, pay rate, employment status)
- Social Insurance Number (SIN) — stored in masked format (only last 3 digits visible) in compliance with Canadian employment law
- Emergency contact information
- Employee documents (uploaded by your employer)
HR and employment data is processed by TruckerPro on behalf of your employer (the data controller). Your employer determines what data is collected and how it is used. Contact your employer for questions about their HR data practices.
Payment Information
- Credit or debit card details are collected and processed securely by Stripe, our PCI-DSS compliant payment processor
- We store only the last four digits of your card number, card brand, and expiration date for your reference — we never store full card numbers on our servers
Background Check Information
- Government-issued identification details required for criminal record checks
- Consent records and check results provided by accredited third-party background check providers accessing the RCMP CPIC database
Usage & Device Information
- Browser type, IP address, and pages visited on our website
- Device operating system and version (mobile apps)
- App usage patterns and feature interactions
2. Mobile Application Data
Our mobile applications collect additional data specific to their function. Each permission is requested at the time of use and can be managed through your device settings.

Location data is never sold to third parties. GPS coordinates collected through the Driver app are used solely for operational purposes (delivery tracking, ETA calculation, checkpoint verification) and are accessible only to the driver and their authorized fleet manager or dispatcher.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, maintain, and improve our Services
- Process dispatch operations, load assignments, and delivery tracking
- Facilitate communication between drivers, dispatchers, and fleet managers
- Process background checks through authorized third-party providers
- Process subscription payments and send billing confirmations
- Send service-related communications (two-factor authentication codes, dispatch notifications, account alerts)
- Provide customer support and respond to inquiries
- Monitor and analyze usage trends to improve our Services
- Detect, prevent, and address fraud, security issues, and technical problems
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service
We do not use your personal information for automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal effects.
4. Information Sharing & Third-Party Service Providers
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share information only in the following circumstances:

Your Employer / Fleet Operator
If you use TruckerPro as a driver or team member assigned by a company, your employer or fleet operator may have access to your load activity, location data (during active deliveries), messages, uploaded documents, and compliance status. Your employer is the data controller for this information.
Legal Requirements
We may disclose your information when required by law, court order, subpoena, or governmental authority, or when we reasonably believe disclosure is necessary to protect rights, safety, or property.
5. Cross-Border Data Transfers
TruckerPro is based in Canada and serves customers in both Canada and the United States. Your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in either country. Our cloud infrastructure is hosted in North America.
By using our Services, you consent to the transfer of your information across national borders within North America. We ensure that all cross-border transfers comply with applicable Canadian and US data protection laws, and that our service providers maintain appropriate safeguards regardless of where data is processed.
6. Data Retention
We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, unless a longer period is required by law.

- PCI-DSS compliant payment processing (no full card numbers stored on our servers)
While we strive to protect your information using commercially reasonable measures, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your Privacy Rights — Canada (PIPEDA)
If you are a resident of Canada, the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) provides you with the following rights:

- Right to Delete: You may request deletion of your personal information, subject to certain legal exceptions

- Right to Opt-Out of Sale: We do not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. Because we do not engage in these practices, no opt-out mechanism is necessary
Categories of personal information collected (as defined by the CCPA): Identifiers, commercial information, internet/electronic activity, geolocation data, professional/employment information, and financial information. See Sections 1 and 2 above for details.

10. Account Deletion
You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time by contacting us at [email protected] with the subject line "Account Deletion Request". Upon receiving your request:
- We will acknowledge your request within two (2) business days
- We will verify your identity to prevent unauthorized deletions
- Your personal data will be deleted or anonymized within 30 days
- Information required by law will be retained for the applicable statutory period (see Data Retention above) and then deleted
- We will send confirmation via email once the process is complete
Please note that account deletion will:
- Cancel any active subscriptions
- Revoke access to the TruckerPro Driver and Fleet mobile applications
- Remove your access to dispatch, messaging, and load management features
If your account was created by your employer (company-assigned license), please contact your employer to request removal. Your employer, as the data controller, may have separate retention obligations.
11. Cookies & Tracking Technologies
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to:
- Essential cookies: Maintain your session and authentication state
- Functional cookies: Remember your preferences (e.g., dark mode, language)
- Analytics cookies: With your consent, we use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our website (pages visited, time on site, traffic sources). This helps us improve our Services. Analytics cookies are only loaded after you provide consent via our cookie banner.
We do not use third-party advertising cookies or cross-site behavioral tracking. You can control cookies through your browser settings or through our cookie consent banner. Disabling essential cookies may affect your ability to use certain features. You can withdraw analytics consent at any time by clearing your browser's local storage.
Our mobile applications do not use cookies. The Driver app uses a crash reporting service for diagnostic purposes only — this does not track your browsing activity.
12. Children's Privacy
Our Services are intended for individuals aged 18 and older who are engaged in commercial transportation activities. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 18. If we become aware that we have collected information from a minor, we will delete it promptly. 13. Data Processing for Company Accounts
When a company (fleet operator) uses TruckerPro to manage their operations, the following data relationship applies:
- The company is the data controller — they determine what driver and employee data is collected and how it is used within TruckerPro
- TruckerPro is the data processor — we process data on behalf of the company according to their instructions and the functionality of our Services
This means that if you are a driver or team member using TruckerPro through your employer:
- Your employer controls your data and can view your activity within their account
- Questions about how your employer uses your data should be directed to your employer
- Your employer may have their own privacy policies that govern your employment data
- If your employer deletes their TruckerPro account, associated team member and driver data will be deleted in accordance with our retention schedule
Companies using TruckerPro are responsible for ensuring they have appropriate legal basis and consent to process their employees' and drivers' personal information through our Services.
14. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or other factors. When we make material changes:
- We will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page
- For significant changes, we will notify registered users via email or in-app notification
- Continued use of our Services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy
