A DQ file (driver qualification file) is the legally required set of documents that proves a driver is qualified to operate a commercial motor vehicle — license, medical, MVR, road test, previous employer checks, and annual reviews. A personnel file is broader and includes HR information like pay rates, performance reviews, leave records, and disciplinary actions. TruckerPro stores both as separate sections of the driver record so safety auditors only see the DQ side, while HR has full access.
